[NOTE: I will post all the Truman responses I received, because each  
one provides a slightly different angle. Esther-Mirjam's is first because  
she was the first to get her response in.--RBE] 
 
President Truman once said he wants an economic adviser who is one  
handed. Why? Because normally the economists giving him economic  
advice state "On one hand and on the other..."
