"Bubbles, Crashes, and Other Financial Crises in Art and Literature"

A session of the 2008 Meeting of the American Society for
Eighteenth-Century Studies (Portland, OR, March 27-30, 2008).

I invite paper proposals dealing with the visual and/or verbal
treatments of the financial crises and innovations that shaped
economic and cultural history in the long eighteenth century. Papers
that focus on under-studied geographical areas, as well as papers
written from an interdisciplinary and/or comparative perspective are
particularly welcome.

Please send one-page paper proposals to Catherine Labio, Depts of
Comparative Literature and French, Yale University, P. O. Box 208251,
New Haven CT 06520-8251, USA; fax: (203) 432-7975; e-mail:
catherine.labio[AT]yale.edu

Proposals must be received no later than September 15, 2007.

Please include your telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address and
mention any audio-visual needs and special scheduling requests.
