It is important to remember the difference between the laws of supply  
and demand and the *theory* of supply and demand, and that  
recognizing supply and demand forces is not the same as putting forth  
supply and demand *functions*.  See, e.g., John Eatwell,  
"Competition," in I. Bradley and M. Howard (eds.): _Classical and  
Marxian Political Economy_, 1982, Macmillan.
