TAAG Film Night: Call for Submissions

The Toronto Area Archivists Group would like to invite local area archives
to participate in our upcoming TAAG Film Night to be held on the evening of
Thursday October 13th at the City of Toronto Archives.  TAAG is now
accepting submissions for the event.  

TAAG Film Night provides big and small archives in Toronto an opportunity to
showcase some of their hidden gems such as commercials, training videos,
short films, documentaries etc. 

Guidelines for Submissions

Subject Matter:  TAAG is not providing any guidelines regarding subject
matter.  If the film interests you, it will probably interest others.  But
please note that film night coordinators will be reviewing each film and/or
description prior to the event.  Although we do not want to censor any
films, children may be in attendance at the event and some films may not be
appropriate for young viewers. 

Format: VHS or DVD formats only.

Duration: 30 seconds up to 30 minutes, but remember...the shorter the film
the more films we can show.

Quality: Films must be of adequate quality for viewing, but also remember
that films must also be of good physical quality to be played.  TAAG is not
responsible for films damaged in equipment as a result of deteriorated
quality.

Copyrighted Material:  It is your responsibility to verify that the public
showing of each submitted film will not be an infringement of copyright or
contrary to donor agreements.  It is up to you to seek permission for the
showing of copyrighted films.  TAAG will not pay any commercial use fees for
films shown at the event.

Other information: A brief written description of each submission must be
provided.  Descriptions should include: title, date, duration and short
description of content.  It should be noted that this information will
printed in a handbill that will be distributed to the audience at the event.


You and/or a representative from each archives submitting a film are invited
to attend the event although it is not required.  Arrangements will be made
prior to the event regarding film drop off and pick up.  Films must arrive
prior to the night of the event.
