At Novembers Ontario Library Association's Policy Forum, they are
planning to look into the issue of Sponsorship in Libraries. In
preparation for the session OPLA is attempting to collect background
information on the topic. If you know of any good web sites, magazine
articles etc on this topic could you please email me or fax the

At the 1998 OLA Annual General Meeting, a motion to support Canadian
Library Association guidelines on the acceptance of sponsorship was
defeated as being unnecessary. It was argued that the Association needed
to
have a more basic discussion about the desirability of sponsorship at
all.
This meeting is the response to that request. Should the Association
recommend a position that libraries might take on acceptance of
sponsorship? What should be included?
