Sandra Guillaume retires from the Archives of Ontario on Friday, November
29, 2002.

Sandra is a true renaissance woman of the archives world.

Her archival career spans more than 40 years and includes two stints at the
Archives of Ontario, as well as at McGill University, the Anglican Archives
and the Multicultural History Society of Ontario. Since 1990, Sandra has
been at the Archives of Ontario as a Reference Archivist.

She has long been interested in such diverse fields as oral history and
heraldry.  Through her regular attendance at the Learneds, Sandra is
well-known by archivists and historians across the country.

Sandra will be missed by everyone.  She has a vast memory of the AO which
has proven very helpful for us more recent staff.  Her profound knowledge of
the AO's collections as well as those of other institutions, and a wonderful
sense of humour and a determined feistiness have stood her in good stead at
the reference desk.

She's kept us all entertained with her large repertoire of stories about
strange reference questions and bizarre happenings in the AO's reading
rooms, often on what she dubbed as "Archives Thursdays."

The staff of the Archives of Ontario wish Sandra all the best in her
retirement.  "Archives Thursdays" will never be the same again!
