SALARY RANGE: $950.08 - $1,080.01 per week

An exciting opportunity exists with the Archives of Ontario to work in an
archival reference team as an Archivist.  You will facilitate access to
archival records by: providing specialized reference services to Reading
Room clients (including: genealogists, historians and the general public),
recommending appropriate sources of information; and explaining/interpreting
the nature, intent and inter-relationship of record-creating systems and
bodies.  Duties may also include arranging and describing records, and
appraisal and acquisition of archival records.

Qualifications:  Reference experience; strong knowledge of archival science;
thorough knowledge of Ontario history; working knowledge of archival
descriptive standards, archival experience in appraisal, acquisition,
arrangement and description, preservation and access issues; working
knowledge of recorded information management principles and practices;
demonstrated strong communication, analytical, customer service,
organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills; demonstrated ability
to set priorities, and to work with minimal supervision.
