CALLING ALL ARCHIVISTS

Cast off the remnants of hibernation and join the Health Archivists
Interest Group (HAIG) at their Winter Colloquium in Kingston!  We will
be meeting Saturday, February 20, 1999 at 11:00 a.m., at the Museum of
Health Care for Eastern Ontario, in the Ann Baillie Building on the
Kingston General Hospital site.
The effervescent Dr. Jacalyn Duffin, Queen's History of Medicine
professor, Haematologist, contributor to the CBC radio program Quirks &
Quarks and author of To See With A Better Eye: A Life of R.T.H. Laennec,
and Langstaff: A Nineteenth-Century Medical Life will be addressing our
group.  She will speak on her experience with archives in the production
of her books.
After lunch, the venerable Dr. James Low, Manager of the Museum of
Health Care for Eastern Ontario will speak on the planning of the
Coalition of Canadian Healthcare Museums & Archives of the Ontario
Museum Association.

                The Ann Baillie Building is halfway down George Street on
the right
hand side, across from the Louise D. Acton building.  The Ann Baillie is
of limestone construction and has 4 high pillars on the front.  She
faces Lake Ontario. Free parking is available on the weekends, in the
lot behind the Louise D. Acton Building, i.e.. come off Stuart Street on
to George Street and left on O'Kill and left into the lot.
