Your trip to Toronto for the 2011 Association of Canadian Archivists  
Annual Conference has the potential to be more than just lecture halls  
and shoptalk!

In this, the first of the the Host Committee's series of social  
activity spotlights, we present delegates with the opportunity to  
participate in a day trip to Ontario's famous wine country:


Inniskillin is pleased to welcome members of the 2011 ACA conference  
to its historic vineyard. Upon entering the driveway through the  
gates, the vast Piazza greets guests and connects the new Founders'  
Hall to the existing Wine Boutique in the historic Brae Burn Barn,  
which dates back to the 1920s. The tour shall touch upon the history  
of the Inniskillin winery's founders and their contribution to the  
Canadian wine industry as well as nature's gift of Icewine. Hosted by  
an experienced wine guide, the tour content is seasonal and follows  
the cycle of winemaking from the vineyards through to the winemaking  
process. Following the tour, guests will enjoy a structured tasting of  
two
Inniskillin premium VQA table wines and one of our renowned Icewines.   
Come and enjoy a day of fresh air and sunshine at Niagara on the Lake,  
take in some local (viti)-culture, and try some award winning Ontario  
wines all set against the backdrop of the picturesque Inniskillin  
winery.

The day will then continue with a delightful walking tour hosted by  
the Niagara
Historical Society and Museum. The tour will begin outside the museum  
itself and wind its way through the surrounding area exploring the  
first capital of Upper Canada and uncovering the events of the war of  
1812 and how they impacted the people and the land of Niagara on the  
Lake.  The tour will conclude outside historic Fort George scene of  
several battles during the war of 1812.

Join us for a day of sunshine and wine, complemented by a leisurely  
tour focusing on one of Canada's most important turning points in  
history!
