Subject: Opportunity: York Region's Youth Food Committee

Good afternoon,

I hope this email finds you well!

York Region's Youth Food Committee has opened applications for new members. Would you be able to share this opportunity within your networks or on social media<https://www.instagram.com/p/CWtM2WGLQNJ/>?

Calling all youth!! York Region's Youth Food Committee (YFC) is seeking members! If you are a youth under the age of 30 who is interested in learning about and acting on food issues, the Youth Food Committee is the place for you.

Youth Food Committee members have the opportunity to: learn about food issues in York Region and develop leadership skills; network and connect with other engaged youth and food system leaders in York Region; pitch, contribute and lead food policy, advocacy and education initiatives; and be part of something that positively impacts the community.

In the last year, the Youth Food Committee and its members have organized a United Nations Food Systems Summit Independent Dialogue focused on hearing youth perspectives, participated in numerous events and panels, delivered a deputation to Regional Council, advocated to our MPs for a more just and sustainable food sector, and more.

We currently have a few projects in the works including applying for funds to build accessible plots in community gardens, and a campaign to advocate and educate on equitable and sustainable land use.

The Youth Food Committee offers a platform for youth to connect with one another and insert their voices in food system issues. Through the YFC, youth pursue topics, projects and events that catch their interest, with support from York Region Food Network.

Please apply here<https://forms.office.com/r/Py6aAj5auX> or email [log in to unmask] for more details.

If you have any questions regarding the Youth Food Committee or general inquiries about York Region Food Network, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you and take care,

Morgan
