Subject: New mental health research funding opportunities

Dear York University Faculty,

This is Liam Hunt writing on behalf of the Stratas Foundation, a volunteer not-for-profit organization sponsoring mental health research in Canada by young and early career scholars.

I'm writing to inform you that, beginning October 2nd, 2021, students and researchers can submit proposals for consideration of five (5) available scholarships ranging in value from $1,500 to $5,000. We require all research applications to pertain to mental health or mental illness, but there are no strict limits on the discipline of study.

Note that one grant ($2,000) is specifically dedicated to Indigenous mental health research.

The application portal will close on November 15th, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Funding is available to any student or researcher in Canada, from the undergraduate to post-doctorate levels. To apply, please visit our website<https://www.stratasfoundation.com/> or use our application portal below:

We kindly ask that you please circulate this email to your colleagues from within and outside your department, as well as with students and any other relevant parties that may be interested in this funding initiative. Your assistance in spreading the word would be greatly appreciated.

Last, we would like to note that Stratas is actively looking for volunteers to assist with our mission to improve mental health literacy for all Canadians. Specifically, we're interested in part-time, remote volunteers to summarize peer-reviewed research articles focusing on mental health using clear, accessible language. These will be shared on our social media channels. Those interested in volunteering should apply at the link below:
