Subject: York Faculty of Health Undergraduate Conference

I am reaching out to you on behalf of York’s Faculty of Health Undergraduate Health Research Exploration program (UHRE). UHRE is a university endorsed program that is funded in part by the founding dean of the Faculty of Health and Faculty of Health’s Agent of Change program. Our mandate is to support students with an interest in research through skill development, scientific engagement, and financial opportunities needed to launch a successful and fruitful research career.

As part of our mandate, we have developed the Conference for Undergraduate Health Research (CUHR), set to be hosted May 27-28, 2022. The reason for contacting you is to inquire about any undergraduate students who you might be working with that could be interested in presenting their research work at this conference. We are connecting with you today to see if you are amenable to notifying your undergraduate research students about CUHR.

I have attached our abstract submissions guideline document to this email. This document can also be found through our website: www.uhre.ca<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/www.uhre.ca__;!!D0zGoin7BXfl!tEQIDik2y-JnQABNUv5NJTAaPHj051xkCM98kkN8O3pTJPbENut3gGoMFFIg17zHKYH92TY$>

As an incentive for students, the faculty is funding 3 research awards for presenters:

· The Harvey Skinner Research Impact Award, valued at $350

· The Award for Research Excellence, valued at $250

· The Best Research Proposal Award, valued at $250

The abstract submission deadline for student presenters is April 11, 2022; 11:59 PM EST.

If you would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact me. We would be delighted to collaborate with your program and offer students another opportunity to share their work.

Best regards,

Afnan Musa

We recognize that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships with the territories upon which York University campuses are located that precede the establishment of York University. York University acknowledges its presence on the traditional territory of many Indigenous Nations. The area known as Tkaronto has been care taken by the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and the Huron-Wendat. It is now home to many First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities. We acknowledge the current treaty holders, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This territory is subject of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement to peaceably share and care for the Great Lakes region.
