Projects of interest to CUHI and the Toronto & Region Conservation 
Authority
Position Description: The Centre for Urban Health Initiatives (CUHI) 
brings together researchers, policy makers and the community to support 
urban health research.  CUHI supports research that examines how the 
social and physical conditions in cities affect the health of the people 
who live there.  We are assisting in recruiting one or two either upper 
year undergraduate students or graduate students who may be interested in 
supporting projects within the Toronto & Region Conservation Authority. 
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing background 
investigation in the following area:
 
The benefits, feasibility and potential approach to update and expand the 
Green Map of Toronto, with a particular focus on the Health and Wellness 
theme.  This investigation could focus on up to three identified 
sustainable neighbourhood retrofit action plan sites as pilot studies in 
the Toronto area.  The products of this research would include Health and 
Wellness maps for the pilot neighbourhood sites and a report with 
recommendations regarding an overall update of the Green Map. 
 
Eligibility: 
 
·     Either presently enrolled in a university undergraduate or graduate 
course of study.
