CUPE 3903 Strike Update & Students FAQs: labour.yorku.ca

From: Julie Rahmer
Subject: April 2018 activities at the Career Centre

Dear Colleagues,

In an effort to continue to provide career supports to students during the labour disruptions, the Career Centre will be offering the following activities and options for students:

  * We are offering extended Drop-in Sessions throughout the month of April. Students may drop-in to speak with a career educator in person to get advice and feedback about their job search, find out about career development and job search resources and supports, or get quick tips for their résumé or cover letter. Drop-ins are 15-minutes and will be available on a first come, first served basis. In the event that we have students waiting, students will be asked to discuss only one main concern.
     * Drop-ins at the Career Centre<http://careers.yorku.ca/event/drop-ins-at-the-career-centre-in-person-or-phone-7/?instance_id=2917> (202 McLaughlin College) will be offered at the following dates/times and can be conducted in person or by phone:
        *   Mondays from 11am-1:00pm
        *   Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00pm
        *   Wednesdays from 11:00am-1:00pm
        *   Thursdays from 11:00am-1:00pm
        *   Fridays from 11:00am-1:00pm
     * Students can also drop into our pop-up locations in person on the following days throughout April:
        * Red Zone in Vari Hall on Tuesdays from 10:00am -12:00pm
        * Atkinson in Room 222 on Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00pm
        * Learning Commons at Scott Library on Thursdays from 1:00-3:00pm
  * Students with scheduled appointments have the option of attending them in person or conducting them via telephone, e-mail or video. Students with scheduled appointments will be contacted directly and presented with these options.
  * The following workshops<http://careers.yorku.ca/students-and-new-grads/services-events/workshops/job-search/> will also be offered this month:
