I am pleased to announce the SUNSIH / REUSSI Central-East Regional
Conference on "EMERGING ILLNESS, EMERGING STATES" happening in Montreal on
April 28 and 29th.  We have an impressive line up of speakers from
universities such as McGill, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins.

Hope everyone can attend!!!

If you could also advertise this conference to your respective universities
(international health and development groups, medical, nursing, public
health, social science departments) that would be very appreciated. Don't
forget to attach the preliminary french and english brochures to your

CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT

McGill University's Osler Medical Aid Foundation is proud to annouce
"EMERGING ILLNESS, EMERGING STATES" - a conference on international
health. The conference will address the interdependencies of disease and
society. Presentations and workshops will discuss the effects of ecological,
social,and political change on the rise of disease and in turn the impact of
disease on the social landscape.  The conference will take place at McGill
University's Faculty of Medicine on 28 & 29 April, 2000, in time to enjoy
Montreal in the spring.  The conference should be of interest to
professionals and students in medicine, public health, and the social
sciences. Registration costs before 8 April, 2000 are 30$ (20$ for
students).

L'Osler Medical Aid Foundation de l'Université McGill est fier de présenter
"EMERGING ILLNESS, EMERGING STATES" - une conférence portant sur la santé
mondiale.  La conférence fera le bilan sur l'interdépendance des maladies
infectieuse et des sociétés d'où elles sont issues.  Présentations et
ateliers se conjugeront pour discuter des effets qu'ont l'instabilité
ecologique, sociale, et politique sur l'émergence des maladies ainsi que de
l'impacte des maladies sur la société.  La conférence se tiendra à la
faculté de médecine de l'Université McGill les 28 & 29 Avril, 2000, en plein
printemps Montréalais.  Le contenu devrait interesser professionels et
étudiants en médecine, en épidémiologie, en santé publique, ainsi qu'en
sciences humaines.
Les coûts d'inscription seront de 30$ (20$ pour étudiants).
