PLEASE CIRCULATE WIDELY - APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTINGS

The Food for Talk Forum is pleased to invite you to its first event of the
year! To really start things off with a bang this fall, we are happy to
announce a talk by one of the key players in the Toronto 'food movement'.

WHO: Debbie Field, Executive Director of FoodShare Toronto

WHEN: Friday September 23rd, 2:30 - 4:30

WHERE: University College, University of Toronto (Room 163)

TOPIC: Popular Democracy and Food - Lessons from Brazil

The 'Food for Talk' seminar series/discussion forum is intended to give
academic and community audiences a chance to hear about and talk about
important issues related to food security, agricultural transformation, and
local food alternatives/networks. This monthly forum is jointly organized
by the Centre for Urban Health Initiatives at the University of Toronto, the
Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University, the Centre for Studies
in Food Security at Ryerson University, and the Toronto Food Policy Council.
We hope that it will serve as a venue for discussion and networking among
people working on food issues from all sectors.

For more information about the seminar series, contact Joy Harewood
[log in to unmask] or Lauren Baker [log in to unmask], or you can
telephone the Centre for Urban Health Initiatives at 416-978-7223.

Hope to see you there!
