Summary:

 

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the importance of public health and the
social determinants of health into the general lexicon. In this context,
there is a need and a public demand for holistic practices and policies to
manage the present and the future.

 

How do post-secondary education systems prepare these future practitioners
to address the challenges posed by these turbulent times? 

 

This free webinar is designed to assist post-secondary educators engage
students in new ways of thinking and to embrace holistic health and health
promotion approaches in their planning and interventions. A panel of
educators will share their experiences teaching with the Circle of Health
across multiple countries. The webinar will connect those who are searching
for new teaching strategies to prepare student practitioners for the new
landscape in which we now live. Simultaneous interpretation between English
and French will be available.

Patsy Beattie-Huggan, one of the creators of the Circle of Health, a health
promotion consultant in Prince Edward Island, Canada, and Coordinator of the
Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities.
