The Advisor, Healthy Settings is part of the dynamic Population and Public Health team at Northern Health in northern BC. The Advisor functions as a subject matter expert in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to foster healthy place-based initiatives within a Health Service Delivery Area (HSDA) in the Northern Health (NH) region. Healthy Settings work is premised on community participation, partnerships, empowerment, cultural safety, and health equity. In keeping with the Ottawa Charter, health promotion strategies seek to 1) strengthen community action; 2) build healthy public policy; and 3) create supportive healthy, sustainable built and natural environments.
