A sincere honour to have you, Benita, as colleaugue, friend and neighbour.

No words can suffice as an adequate tribute to you as a person who lived
her values with every action — no matter how small or big — treated
everyone with whom she interacted with respect. Such an admirable way to
live one’s life: always up for collaboration, ever encouraging of others’
endeavours and pursuits, never too busy for a conversation. to serve as a
reference, or return a message, sadly, with eve exception of my most recent
to you.

May your beautiful heart, and hope and dedicated hard work for a better
world for all, spark a flame in us all ❣️ May your passing way to soon,
spark a revitalized energy in all of us to think, speak and act in a more
socially and economically just way !!!

You will always live on in our hearts, our memories and inspiring our
actions …

In the words of Arundhati Roy
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I
can hear her breathing.”

Missing you,
Karen & Sahar Serwonka
Osborne Village
Winnipeg, Manitoba
On original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples,
and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.
