Dear all,

As a Japanese born after WW2,
I am also quite fascinated by the statement that "MacArthur was
a Georgist".

My question now is:

In which sense can be interpreted as a Georgist?
Did he read any books by George or
perhaps some secondary literature on George?
Or it means simply that
he was an egalitarian more or less?

I do think however that the land reform was "a heavy cultural shock" for
the Japanese at that time.
It contributed a great deal to make our economy
egalitarian; all had changed drastically during
the occupation period including the politicoeconomic
system.

Best wishes,
