I am currently, at the recommendation of Taylor Roberts, reading ARCADIAN ADVENTURES OF THE IDLE RICH, a novel by Stephen Leacock, who was primarily an economist and political scientist, but who also (again, as Taylor informed me) wrote a biography of Twain. Haven’t read the biography (yet), but the novel is a hoot so far and one could certainly speculate about its anxiety of influence. Thanks again, Taylor!
