I live in Remington country. Twain used a Remington typewriter. I called
the museum and asked if they knew any more about it. The curator, Kevin
Cornell, said he didn't but would put the question in the next bulletin of
the REMINGTON SOCIETY OF AMERICA. This goes to collectors of Remington
products, primarily guns, but some typewriters. If I get a better answer
I'll notify the list. I'll bet whoever owns his tyewriter (Elmira??)
might know more about who used it and how it was used. Interesting.

The Remington Arms Co. is located in Ilion, NY (Herkimer CO.).
I am Mary Lou Caskey, Assistant Director at Mid-York Library System in
Utica, NY about 15 miles west of Ilion in the New York State Thruway (I-90).
