Dear Great Scholars:
Perhaps I am the first person to mention this, but when I read Huckleberry
Finn, the characters of the imposters duke and king totally annoy me. Could
the book have survived quite well without them? If not, why not? I just
want to tell Twain to "Get on with it". I do not see what they contribute
to that novel.
