Lots of good articles on Twain lately...

Here are three from the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, another from London's Telegraph, and Voice of America:

And yesterday a German reporter came through and is doing a piece on Twain. (If I've provided these links before, I apologize. It's been rather hectic here of late.) Lonely Planet is putting out a book on traveling with Twain, and there have been many other writers passing through in anticipation of this year's events.

I wish all of the Twain Forum folks could join us this Wednesday at 12:00 noon. We're having a brief ceremony with a proclamation regarding "The Year of Mark Twain" and will 1) bury a time capsule, 2) unveil a webcam on the Becky Thatcher House that will show the Boyhood Home/mall area in 24/7 streaming video, and 3) unveil the new permanent exhibit at the Huck Finn House that goes further into the story of slavery in Hannibal. USA TODAY plans to cover the ceremony.

On "Juneteenth" we are installing an exhibit in the Boyhood Home showing where Sandy likely slept with an explanation of the family's slaves.

On Saturday, Dan Mathews, VP of PETA was here to install a plaque with Twain's anti-vivisection quote. We included some photos of Twain with his pets. (Thanks, MTP!) PETA donated $5000 to show their support.

Come visit us in Hannibal!
