Hi Tim,

Larry wrote most extensively on the topic of freedom in his book *Heretical
Fictions: Religion in the Literature of Mark Twain.* It came out in 2010
and was published by the University of Iowa Press. I'd start there. The
bibliography lists additional essays on Twain and freedom by Larry.
