I am currently teaching a seminar in Twain, and my students have
asked me two (at least!) questions that I cannot quite answer. I'd
appreciate any information on them:

1) When Twain so famously swore, what exactly did he say? What kind
of swearing did people do in the 19C?

2) Is there an extant audio recording of Twain's voice?

Thanks,
