Starting this summer, CNS will undertake a multi-year project to
upgrade the University's communications network. This upgrade
will greatly improve York's computing and communications
capabilities by providing the capacity for higher bandwidth that
will accommodate more demanding future applications at the Keele
and Glendon campuses.

Affecting voice and data services in most campus buildings, the
project will include upgrading wiring and communications jacks,
and replacement of network components. In addition we will be
renovating existing telecommunications rooms and constructing new
ones.

CNS Telecommunications and Network Operations will consult with
each department to assess the project's impact and to identify
specific concerns about workflow disruption. To minimize service
disruptions, work will be scheduled outside business hours as
much as is feasible. Some work, such as wiring in hallways and
telecommunications rooms, will be done during regular business
hours.

We will consult with stakeholders in each affected location to
schedule the work and minimize the impact.  Please direct
