Computing & Network Services(CNS) OUTAGES over Holiday Break.

CNS has scheduled the following outages during the holiday break -
Thursday December 22nd - January 2nd, inclusive.

Thursday December 22
08:30 - 18:00hrs
Internet Service: There will be several brief service interruptions 
throughout the day.  During these service interruptions the link between 
York University and the Internet will be unavailable and people off campus 
will not be able to access computing services at York, including email and 
York websites.  During the service interruptions people at York will not 
be able to access the Internet.  These service interruptions are necessary 
in order to increase the size of the University's internet connection.

AirYork Service: There will be several service interruptions of various 
lengths throughout the day.  During these interruptions, people connected 
to the AirYork service will lose their connections.  These service 
interruptions are necessary in order to carry out AirYork service 
upgrades.

There will also be several brief service interruptions throughout the day 
impacting general network services at Glendon Campus, Nadal/SSB Campus, 
and portions of the Keele campus including Keele Campus ResNet services in 
order to carry out necessary maintenance work.


Friday December 23
08:30 - 18:00hrs
AirYork Service: There will be several service interruptions of various 
lengths throughout the day.  During these interruptions, people connected 
to the AirYork service will lose their connections.  These service 
interruptions are necessary in order to carry out AirYork service 
upgrades.

There will also be several brief service interruptions throughout the day 
impacting network services on the Keele campus in order to carry out 
necessary maintenance work.


Saturday December 24
08:30 - 12:00hrs
There may be some brief service interruptions to portions of the Keele 
campus network.


Tuesday December 27th
08:00 - 11:00hrs
* Central E-Mail(@yorku.ca), and related services (e.g. LISTSERV,
MyMail,WebMail)
* York Web (the main York Web server) which will also include all Passport
York authenticated web applications: Student Web Applications - REM, STAC,
etc., Manage My Services, NoteBox, Atlas Updater, CEO-Deux, GEO-Deux,
Roaming Access, Class Lists, eReports, AirYork, YorkNet, VPN, EVote,
EForms, PTVNET, etc.
* WebCT
* Phoenix academic cluster
* Anonymous FTP

11:00 - 24:00hrs
* SIS applications - all administrative, faculty(class lists) and student
applications - REM, STAC,etc. will be unavailable
* WebCT

Wednesday December 28th
11:00 - 24:00hrs
* ITS - HR/Pcard/Finance systems
* SIS QA


Monday January 2nd
08:30 - 18:00hrs
In order to upgrade software in the network switches on the Keele and 
Glendon campus, there will be a brief service interruption in each 
building sometime during the day. Network services in the Steacie Science 
Library will not be impacted by these outages. Centrally supported 
computing services such as email and the central web services will not be 
impacted by these outages.
