IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING DELL NOTEBOOK BATTERY RECALL

As you may be aware, Dell recently issued a safety recall for dell laptop
batteries received/purchased between April 2004 and July 2006. The
batteries can overheat and be a fire hazard. If you believe you may have
an affected computer, please follow the following steps.

If this is a University supported computer, please refer to your local
technical support group for direction, otherwise continue the steps here.

Confirm whether your DELL Laptop is within the following model range:
Latitude: D410, D500, D505, D510, D520, D600, D610, D620, D800, D810
Inspiron: 500M, 510M, 600M, 700M, 710M, 6000, 6400, 8500, 8600,
           9100, 9200, 9300, 9400, E1505, E1705

If Yes, then the next step is to verify whether your Laptop is carrying
the affected battery pack and this can be done by deploying the following
step:

- Power down the Laptop
- Remove the Battery Pack (if not familiar, access the Laptop users guide)
- The Battery Pack must have the DELL markings along with Made in Japan
or Made in China. If the Battery Pack does not have these markings then
your Battery Pack is not affected.

Please refer to the following website for a complete list of affected
battery packs and the relevant serial/part numbers.

https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/

If your Battery Pack is one of the affected part numbers please contact
Dell directly via the website above to request a replacement.

If you experience difficulties, please contact CNS Helpdesk for
assistance: [log in to unmask] or x55800.
