This job has already been posted on the Canada Job Bank by the other of
its two parents, the HRDC. It is the product of a Job Creation
Partnership and as such is for unemployed persons only, and it is
low-paying. However, if you know of anyone interested in and qualified
for the following position, please encourage them to apply.

Curatorial and archival assistant for registration/cataloging.

Unemployed person needed for Job Creation Partnership position at the
Norwich Museum and Archives. The establishment is around 25 km south of
Woodstock (no public transportation). The worker will be using new
computer equipment (another grant, Windows 2000) to populate databases,
scan photographs, and use appropriate sources to register museum objects
and describe archival materials.

This is a 52-week, full-time position only, with one month's training
guaranteed by the HRDC contract. HRDC will be screening the final
candidate and paying the worker when hired. Pay is scheduled to be
$413/week. The position is non-renewable, but time off must be given to
seek a more permanent position, and the worker may leave before the 52
weeks are up.

Naturally, computer literacy, museum and/or archive experience and/or
knowledge are desirable. Worker must be able to use computer equipment,
including a mouse, and be able to sit for long periods of time.
With some effort, position could be made wheelchair accessible.

Applications and resumes are being accepted through July 24 by fax, mail
and email, with attachments in Word, PDF or Word Perfect. Applicants
are also welcome to apply in person at the museum and archives.
