The Anglican Church of Canada - Archivist
DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the functioning and management of the General Synod Archives, including the acquisition, conservation and availability of the records of the General Synod, related bodies, its Officers, Staff and related private selections, as well as records management of the National Office.

Key responsibilities for this position are to:
· Establish and maintain a records management program for the active records and related papers of the General Synod and its committees, councils, boards and commissions; collect, arrange, describe and preserve the permanent records and related papers of the General Synod and its committees, councils, boards and commissions
· Develops, implements and maintains the national office records management program including file classification, records retention schedules, privacy standards and retrieval systems; collect, arrange and preserve the official papers of the Primate, the General Secretary and all other officers and employees of General Synod
· Responsible for the efficient and effective operations of the archives, working with the Assistant Archivist and contract employees

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Master of Archival Studies (or equivalent) required
· Graduate degree in history and/or theology an asset
· Minimum five (5) years experience in a variety of professional positions
· Proficiency in Microsoft products, DbText and familiarity with evolving digital technologies required
· Consulting skills
· Knowledge, understanding and experience of the Christian Church and the Anglican Communion
