Members of the Association of Canadian Archivists are invited to visit
Toronto Public Library's Osborne Collection of Early Children's Books
at any time during their visit to Toronto. The Collection is open
Monday to Friday, 10-6, and Saturday 9-5. A special tour featuring
treasures from the collection will be given on Thursday, June 2nd.
The collection, established in 1949, has grown from an initial 2,000
items to over 80,000, and includes books, book-related art and
archives. Holdings range from ancient cuneiform tablets to modern
notable children's books, with many novelty items that require special
archival care.
