Thanks. I was aware of the genealogy. It's online via the Internet
Archive http://www.archive.org/details/clemensfamilychr00clembut
I don't see any relationship in it, anyway, but
perhaps I wasn't clear. I'm not actually interested in the degree of
relationship, if any,
but where and/or  how the story started that SLC was, variously,
brother, uncle, or cousin to William M. Clemens. It's definitely
circulating before 1914.
