Joe Alvarez and David Tomlinson are right in advising you that Vic Doyno is
the
best authority on the HF manuscript. Vic doesn't have an e-mail address,
but
you can reach him by the standard route at the address David gave you
(perhaps
inserting "English Department" at the appropriate spot).

The Random House edition of Huckleberry Finn is expected in early 1996. It
will include Vic's commentary and his selection of portions of the
manuscript
to be published in that volume. I think its appearance will be a big event
for
Twain scholarship. --Jim Leonard
