Disturbed by the following in the Globe and Mail today, I wrote to Coderre
and cc'd the email to several other Liberal MPs, my own MP Jean Crowder
(NDP), and Senator Hugh Segal:

Some back Participactions's return despite costs

My email to the MPs and senator:

To the Honourable Denis Coderre:

We read with interest your comments in today's Globe and Mail regarding
Participaction and strongly object to your support of reviving the program.

The population most at risk for ill health due to obesity and malnutrition
happens to be the lowest income group. It's not only insulting to suppose
that these Canadians aren't already aware of the 'eat right and exercise'
message, but it's ludicrous and immoral to consider spending $6 million plus
on reviving Participaction while 15.5% of Canadians can't afford to buy
healthy food or enroll in fitness programs, or outfit themselves and find
the hours from their low-paid toil for same.
