Electronic Records Workshop being held by TAAG on October

Electronic Records Workshop

Time:

$50 for TAAG members; $70 for non-members

Workshop Description:
This workshop will provide an introduction to the theoretical
and practical considerations involved in managing records in
electronic form.  Some conceptual models for electronic records
programs will be explored, along with an overview of the 
record-creating characteristics of information systems. As well,
the workshop will examine how preservation, media, and
migration issues are affected by the electronic records program 
models.  Other topics will include: strategies for managing records
such as email and word-processed documents; conducting an 
inventory of a large database - a case study; strategies to 
preserve websites at the University of Toronto; and scanning 
and digitizing records.
