I agree with Iona. We did have to buy the cable from Hoskin Scientific. It cost $25.43 with shipping and tax. But the Hoboware software installs with the datalogger once you connect it with the cable to your computer.

I don't know if the AAO still has the datalogger lending program. This was a good program that Iona administered as Archives Advisor. You could borrow a bit better model of the Hobo datalogger from that program for a short period.

Hi Elise,

I also recommend HOBO dataloggers manufactured by Onset. I've used them for many years and they were reliable, user friendly and very low maintenance. The UX100 - 011A logger replaces the older U14-100 model which is now discontinued but was very popular with museums and archives for internal temperature and RH monitoring for many years. They are relatively inexpensive at about $200 plus about $140 for the HOBOware Pro software program needed. You can purchase a download version of HOBOware Pro slightly cheaper but you then still have to purchase USB cable separately to connect your logger to a computer to download data onto. If you purchase the slightly more expensive software on CD the cable is included. So it works out to about the same cost. (Current prices from Hoskin Scientific in Oakville Ontario before tax and shipping). There are other models with various features depending on what you need. I find the sales staff or their technical people at Hoskin quite helpful at explaining features and helping select a model that best suits your needs and budget.

You don't often get email from [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Learn why this is important<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification>
Happy Monday, Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone in the group had any recommendations for a Temp/RH logger for a compact storage area? As it is necessary to store some archival materials in this area, we want to determine if there are any issues that will require mitigation strategies to address.

With sincere thanks,
Elise
