Toronto! Archives! Tours! And in less than two weeks!

Our fourth offering of Toronto area archives that have made themselves
available to delegates for visits/tours is the Osborne Collection of
Early Children’s Books.

If interested in visiting these facilities, conference delegates are
asked to contact the archives directly at the information listed below.

Stay tuned tomorrow for another post!

Date: Thursday, June 2nd, 2011
Time: 4:00 - 5:00pm
Maximum number: 20 people

Members of the Association of Canadian Archivists are invited to visit
Toronto Public Library's Osborne Collection of Early Children's Books
at any time during their visit to Toronto. The Collection is open
Monday to Friday, 10-6, and Saturday 9-5. A special tour featuring
treasures from the collection will be given on Thursday, June 2nd.

The collection, established in 1949, has grown from an initial 2,000
items to over 80,000, and includes books, book-related art and
archives. Holdings range from ancient cuneiform tablets to modern
notable children's books, with many novelty items that require special
archival care.

Delegates interested in attending the tour of the Osborne Collection
are asked to contact Leslie McGrath, whose contact information is
listed below.
