Hi all,

I'm heading a project with the Maltese-Canadian Museum in collaboration
with Magna Żmien, a grassroots archive initiative in Malta. We're
establishing the Maltese-Canadian Museum in Toronto as the digitisation hub
for the Maltese diaspora in Canada. The aim of the project is to digitise
home collections of Maltese individuals and families in an effort to
preserve the memory of Maltese everyday life.

Whilst we've established our museum as the digitisation hub, we don't have
any digitisation equipment. In the meantime, we're using my personal
equipment but we are seeking donations or to purchase equipment to keep
in-house. Since I've got a pretty good amount of equipment to bring in
occasionally, we're not looking to borrow any equipment. We don't have much
of a budget (we're looking out for grants to apply for), but we are willing
to purchase equipment. That said, we are also seeking out cash donations if
people are interested in donating that way rather than through equipment.
Our goal is around $5,000.

If you're able to help, please deliver donations to St. Paul the Apostle
Church (3224 Dundas St W, Toronto) addressed to the Maltese-Canadian Museum
or contact me directly ([log in to unmask] or 9054319576) so we
can arrange something. I'm happy to drive just about anywhere.

We're looking for:

   - Flatbed scanners
   - Negative and Slide Scanners
   - Super 8/8mm Film Scanners
   - Cameras
      - DSLR (preferably with detachable lenses)
      - Tripod
      - Book Scanners

We'll take what we can get, new or old. We're a pretty crafty bunch and can
probably manage to repair some items as well if you have some that aren't
working well anymore.

Here's our call for donations on Facebook:

We know it's a large ask so we are deeply appreciative of any effort to
support!

Thank you and Happy New Year,

Niġel Klemenčič-Puglisevich
