Dear Institutional Members,

Institutional Members in good standing of the Archives Association of
Ontario are eligible to apply for grants under the terms of the Control of
Holdings Cost Shared Cooperative Assistance Program, and the Preservation
Management Cost Shared Cooperative Assistance Program. These grants are
made available through the Canadian Council of Archives (CCA), with the AAO
Institutional Development Committee administering the provincial
competition for the programs.

Due to limited CCA funds, and in an effort to make funding available to as
many institutions as possible, the Institutional Development Committee will
be giving first consideration to grant applications under the Control of
Holdings Program requesting $5,000 or less and to applications under the
Preservation Management Program requesting $10,000 or less for the
2004-2005 grant year. The decision to lower the funding cap on applications
under the Control of Holdings Program is due to a recent funding reduction
to the program.

Grant application packages are now available through the AAO website and
the CCA website. Application packages can also be requested through the AAO
Office. All applications are available in French upon request.

Each grant package includes:

1. Control of Holdings Cost Shared Cooperative Assistance Program Guide
to Applicants (application form is included in the guide).

2. Preservation Management Cost Shared Cooperative Assistance Program
Guide to Applicants (application form is included in the guide).

3. AAO Supplement to Canadian Council of Archives 2004-2005 Control of
Holdings and Preservation Management Guides to Applicants, outlining
additional AAO requirements, as well as highlighting CCA terms and
conditions.

Also available are applications for the Professional Development and
Training Program and the Special Projects Program, which are funded from
the Control of Holdings Program, and the Preservation Training and
Information Program, which is part of the CPCAR Program.

To enter the competition, submit ten (10) copies of your completed
application (the original and 9 photocopies) no later than Tuesday, 6
January 2004, 4:30 p.m. Grant applications may be sent by mail, courier or
hand delivered to:
