YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE AAO’s FIRST ANNUAL

MUNICIPAL ARCHIVES OPEN HOUSE


The Municipal Archives Interest Group (MAIG) of the Archives Association of Ontario welcomes you to its first annual open house. Here you can meet and talk with archivists working in the municipal sector, tour a vibrant municipal archives and share ideas and strategies about the development of municipal archives elsewhere in the province.


Location: The Simcoe County Archives 


Date: October 23rd, 1999, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm


The archives is located off of Highway 26, 1 km west of the junction with Highway 27 north of Barrie. From highway 400, take the Bayfield Street exit north through Barrie to Highway 26 at Midhurst. The archives is located across from the Simcoe County Administration Building and beside the Simcoe County Museum. Please call the archives at 705-726-9331 for further information.


Refreshments and snacks will be provided. Lunch on your own (several options are close by). Feel free to bring a bag lunch.


This is a great opportunity to learn more about a program with an excellent national reputation, an impressive collection and a facility specifically built to be an archives, the first county archives in Ontario!
