Apologies for cross-posting.

In the penultimate instalment of the ACA 2011 Conference Host
Committee's series of social activity spotlights we focus on the
awards lunch and closing banquet and dance.

Stay tuned tomorrow for a final summary of all we have offered, things
to keep in mind, and a surprise development regarding one of the most
popular Conference events!!

Awards Lunch

When: Friday, June 3rd, 2011
Time: Noon – 2:00pm
Where: Churchill Ballroom, Delta Chelsea Hotel

Join your fellow conference delegates, ACA members and special guests
for lunch followed by the presentation of the annual Archivaria
awards: the W. Kaye Lamb Prize, for the best overall article, and the
Hugh A. Taylor Prize, presented annually to the author of an article
that presents new ideas or refreshing syntheses in the most
imaginative way. The lunch will also recognize volunteers serving in
leadership roles as well as the presentation of the ACA's Member
Recognition Award and Fellow Award.

This luncheon is open to all pre-registered delegates as well as
special guests invited by the Association.

Closing Banquet and Dance

When: Saturday, June 4th, 2011
Time: 6:30pm: Cocktail reception, raffle and auction (Churchill Court)
7:30 to midnight: Closing dinner and dance (Churchill Ballroom)
Where: Churchill Ballroom, Delta Chelsea Hotel

Always a highlight, and not just because it is a wrap up to the
conference, this event provides the opportunity to catch up with the
people you only waved to while rushing between sessions. Enjoy an
evening with friends, old and new, a relaxing meal, your favorite
dance music from past and present, and maybe some local flavor as
well! This is your last chance to see colleagues from far and wide
until next year so, unless you plan to stay up all night, don’t book
that 6:30 am flight on Monday morning!

The ACA Foundation will be holding its annual fund-raising raffle and
auction in conjunction with the closing dinner and dance. Remember to
purchase your raffle tickets to win some great prizes and be ready to
bid for some of the great items in the auction. It is all for a very
good cause!

Thanks to Maximum Music for their fine music services. If you would
like to suggest some music selections for the dance, please direct
them to [log in to unmask]
