Hello AAO community,

Now that the pilot for weekly Summer Archeion Support Zoom Drop Ins is completed I will begin sharing monthly Archeion updates with you via AAO e-blast. I have four updates for September:

1. Archeion upgrade to AtoM 2.7.3

Archeion will be upgraded to AtoM 2.7.3 <https://groups.google.com/g/ica-atom-users/c/St4-2e_7ZCg/m/4OfHix9dCwAJ> in September. I will send updates about the date of the upgrade to the AAOlist <https://aaoo.wildapricot.org/aao-listserv> . If you use Archeion and are not on the AAOlist, please sign up to receive time sensitive information about the upgrade. More news to come!

2. Archeion Google Analytics Looker Studio Reports

Interested in seeing Google Analytics statistics for Archeion to share with your archives administrators, or just to compare to your own website’s analytics?

I've set up monthly templates so that anyone interested can access an overview of monthly Archeion GA4 analytics:

*	 <https://lookerstudio.google.com/reporting/371d35f5-fd44-4c15-a5cd-a0bf533a2cea> June - Archeion Google Analytics 4 Report
*	 <https://lookerstudio.google.com/reporting/d61f5cf4-fd1a-4a80-893a-4862204aaca9> July - Archeion Google Analytics 4 Report
*	 <https://lookerstudio.google.com/reporting/2ba61a96-d23f-4fee-b8eb-417ac0465cc5> August - Archeion Google Analytics 4 Report

These reports can be used to see Archeion's monthly:

*	user counts
*	page view counts
*	views and sessions by city (the map in the template is interactive - you can zoom in to find your city)
*	engagement metrics - such as total monthly event counts, event count per user, and average session time per user
*	types of devices used when accessing Archeion (desktop continues to be the most popular by far but we do have some mobile users as well)
*	session sources for Archeion
*	popular landing pages (see page 2 - you can scroll through these)
*	search terms (see page 2 - you can scroll through these)

In addition to the analytics portion of the reports, the search terms per month are very interesting to see the types of terms users enter into Archeion to find descriptions.

If any other archives use Google Analytics and want to reuse the Archeion Looker Studio Report template, please get in touch. I would also love to hear from anyone who has ideas for other GA4 metrics you want to see on these reports.

I will continue sharing out Archeion analytics - and also work on sending out Archeion stats - in future months.

3. New  <https://www.archeion.ca/using_archeion> Archeion Letter of Understanding page ( <https://www.archeion.ca/using_archeion> https://www.archeion.ca/using_archeion)

Please take a look at the new Letter of Understanding (LOU) page for the AAO's Archeion service. The intent of the LOU is to formally and publicly capture the roles and responsibilities of the Archeion Coordinator, the AAO, and institutions who are using, or have used, the Archeion service.

Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback about the responsibilities as they are currently listed. The LOU will be reviewed annually.

4. AAO social media & promoting Archeion content

The LOU also outlines promotion of institutions and their public descriptions and digital objects from Archeion via AAO social media (see #3, #10, and #34 in the LOU). The intent of this is to reduce permissions labour on institutions and their staff, AAO volunteers, and the Archeion Coordinator when institutions and their public descriptions in Archeion are promoted on AAO social media. Anything promoted on AAO social media will have appropriate credit to the institution. Items or descriptions that are in draft or have clear restrictions listed in the description on Archeion will not be promoted.

Reducing permissions labour will speed up the ability to promote and advocate for Ontario archives represented in Archeion via AAO social media. This will also assist with planning around promotion of Archeion content related to commemorative dates, holidays, and other events in 2023-2024 on the <https://www.instagram.com/archives.assoc.ontario> AAO Instagram, Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/ArchivesAssociationOfOntario> , X (formerly Twitter) <https://twitter.com/AAO_tweet> , and LinkedIn <https://www.linkedin.com/company/archives-association-of-ontario> accounts.

 <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wPTwyr_5GxGC75o5sjfV9rD8zAuyRuv7/edit#gid=195075743> Here is an early draft of 2023-2024 dates and Archeion content (1 tab for 2023 and 1 tab for 2023-2024) for planned promotion.

If your institution has any events and related Archeion content that you would like to have promoted, please email me.

A reminder you can also have your institution highlighted in a #FeatureFriday by <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfb32KWd_WllIycIscV3FbuQ0sgugBTLzw9kVbUOdUqa6n-Ug/viewform?usp=sf_link> filling in this form. You can see past Feature Friday institutions on the AAO website’s <https://aaoo.wildapricot.org/Archeion-Features> Archeion Features page.

All the best,

Kelli
