This week the ACA 2011 Conference Host Committee will be sending out a
spotlight every day of the week as we offer delegates the opportunity
to visit a variety of local Toronto archives. To start things we off,
we consider the Anglican General Synod Archives and the Canadian
National Exhibition (CNE) Archives.

If interested in visiting these facilities, conference delegates are
asked to contact the archives directly at the information listed below.

And remember, there are more to come!

**Anglican General Synod Archives**

The General Synod Archives under Canon V acquires, preserves and
provides access to the records of enduring value created by General
Synod, its committees, councils, boards and commissions and includes
the official papers of the Primate, the General Secretary and all
other officers and employees of the General Synod. The archives is
also the repository for records created by organizations and
individuals affiliated with the Anglican Church of Canada and who are
of historical significance to the national Church. In addition, the
archives of the Diocese of the Arctic are held on deposit. The General
Synod Archives forms part of the Office of the General Secretary and
reports to the General Synod through the Communications and
Information Resources Committee.

The archives is located at 80 Hayden Street in Toronto. If you are
interested in a tour of the facility, please contact:

**CNE Archives**

The Archives was founded in 1964 for the purpose of acquiring,
preserving and making available to the public the records of the
Canadian National Exhibition, the Canadian International Air Show and
the Warriors' Day Parade Council. In 1983, this role was extended to
cover the records of the newly created Board of Governors of
Exhibition Place (a local board of the City of Toronto). Apart from
official records (textual, photographic, film, audio recordings,
printed material) produced by the above mentioned bodies, the Archives
also acquires and preserves private papers and artifacts that serve to
illustrate the history of Exhibition Place and events that have taken
place on the grounds. Material held by the Archives date from the
founding of the CNE in 1879 to the present.

The archives is located in the General Services Building, 2 Manitoba
Drive (north-west corner of Fleet Street and Strachan Avenue). If you
are interested in a tour of the archives, please contact:
