The Atlanta-based Seminar for the Comparative History of Labor,
Industrialization, Technology and Society announces a conference to be
held in Atlanta, on the Emory University campus, March 15-16, 1996. The
eight panelists will present a cross-national examination of the
relationship between political and economic change during the "long
nineteenth century." This is an attempt to bring new methods and
perspectives to bear on the development of capitalism in America, France,
Germany and Great Britain. Any interested scholars are warmly invited to
attend and to participate in discussion.
