1.  The Penguin edition of LOM includes ms. material that was edited out
of the published edition. I've found this a useful text.

2.  The changes from the "Old Times" to LOM are almost exclusively
divisions of each of the original sketches into 2 chapters in LOM.  You
can compare LOM with the sketches by using Making of America to access
_Atlantic Monthly_
