Dear Bob Michael:

The best account of this period I know of is Carl Dolmetsch's _"Our Famous
Guest": MT in Vienna_ (Athens: U Georgia P, 1992).  There's a lot of
material on MT's relation to the Jewish community, attacks on him in the
anti-Semitic press, and related subjects.
