The play "Is He Dead" received a critical eye and appraisal from
Carl Dolmetsch in his book _Our Famous Guest_ (1992) who rated it
"quite possibly stageworthy today as a museum piece and a
curiosity for a university or other noncommerical theater" (p. 120).
However, he also had some harsher criticism for it as well.
