As to the "Tuesday Morning Club" -- is it possible the club in question
was the Saturday Morning Club which Clemens helped organize in October
1876 for teenage girls? There is a brief entry on it in Rasmussen's
_Mark Twain A to Z_. Paine also mentions it in his biography in
Chapter 110, online at:

http://www.boondocksnet.com/twaintexts/biography/paine_bio110.html

It is also mentioned in the Mark Twain and W. D. Howells correspondence.
