My point appears to have escaped some on the list, so I will attempt to
make it as clear as I possibly can. When I first subscribed to the Mark
Twain forum some five years ago, I was disappointed by the constant
requests by undergraduate students for simple references that they could
have found if they had spent a quiet afternoon in their college library.
Not only did this overwhelm my computer's capacity to store these emails,
but it seemed to me to be subverting the reason for the forum's existance.
I was very pleased when I decided to take a second look at the forum to
see that there was a bibliography provided. While I am glad of its
existance I wonder at its usefulness if it is out of date. All I am
asking is to keep it current. This seems to be a fairly simple matter and
one that I would think would be embraced by the individuals who are part
of this list serve. Nuff said. I do think it would be in everyone's best
interest to depersonalize this and stick to the matter at hand.
